About Us

Outta Skool is a social enterprise dedicated to fostering community cohesion and promoting healthy, active lifestyles. Although initially established in the early 2000s, the organisation was officially registered in 2009. It was founded by a group of like-minded colleagues working in secondary education who were driven by a shared mission: to reduce racial tensions in schools and the wider community in the wake of the Oldham riots.

Believing in the power of sport as a universal language, the founders began by running after-school and holiday clubs aimed at bringing young people together in a positive, inclusive environment. Over time, the organisation expanded its reach, delivering workshops and projects in schools across the country and engaging with increasingly diverse communities.

Today, Outta Skool is home to several vibrant sports clubs offering Football, Boxing, Taekwondo, Muay Thai, Kabaddi, and Dance. Through these activities, the organisation supports over 160 young people each week, providing them with structure, mentorship, Leadership, opportunities to excel in a chosen sport and a sense of belonging.

Outta Skool also runs a highly impactful adult service: the Let’s Get Active Programme. This FREE 12-week lifestyle programme supports adults living with long-term health conditions such as Type 2 Diabetes, obesity, and poor mental health, while also tackling social isolation.

Staying true to its roots, Outta Skool continues to run holiday sports camps that include nutritious meals, helping to combat food poverty and ensuring that fewer children go hungry during the school holidays.

Outta Skool’s aim is to remove barriers to participation, making its services accessible to lower socio-economic groups (LSEG) and marginalised communities. These barriers include the location and timing of activities, language, religion, culture, and above all, cost. The organisation’s mission is to provide a service that is truly inclusive—accessible to all, regardless of background—and to actively reduce health inequalities.

A proud ambassador for cultural awareness, Outta Skool hosts annual community events that celebrate diversity and promote unity. The organisation remains committed to using sport and community engagement as tools for lasting social change.
